Join Dr. Amy Shema to learn how to analyze children's books with a new lens to ensure you are selecting books that offer the children you serve opportunities to discover windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors. Please bring a book from your childhood that has special meaning to you.
Amy Shema, PhD; is an instructor in the Department of Education and Human Development at SUNY Brockport. Prior to her work at the College, she taught in the Rochester City School District and worked on contracts with the US Department of Education that focused on out of school time learning, literacy, and staff development. Her research includes work with diverse families, early childhood education, and global citizenship.
This two-hour workshop will be held in-person at the Victor Farmington Library.
