Speaker: Andrea Snyder
Community outreach such as building awareness and sharing information about library resources & programs is incredibly important for libraries. We do this through actions such as having tables at community events and attending local meetings to speak about library resources.
During this interactive session, we'll be talking about ways we can move outreach efforts to the next level and truly engage with our communities to build even stronger relationships between library staff and their communities. Engaging with our communities helps to form active partnerships that serve everyone & better the entire community.
We will also be brainstorming ways about how libraries can participate in the Great Give Back on Saturday, October 19th. The Great Give Back is an day for patrons & libraries from across New York State to participate in meaningful, service oriented opportunities such as community cleanups, collecting supplies for a local animal shelter or making blankets for individuals in the hospital.
