Organize and describe your collection
The first steps in a digitization project is identifying, organizing, and describing the collection(s) you want to digitize. This class will focus on how to look at the materials you have to determine the scope of the project, how to divide the project into manageable parts, how to create a finding aid for the collection, and how to create metadata for your collection.
This class will be hands on. Participants are encouraged to bring representative samples of a collection to work with. Participants will start a Digitization Project Plan outline, collection finding aid, and metadata worksheet.
