FLACRA's Connections, Rounded Recovery certified team will provide training to library staff on administering Naloxone also known as Narcan.
Narcan is an opiate antidote. Examples of opioids are: heroin and prescription pain pills like morphine, codeine, oxycodone, methadone and vicodin. When a person is overdosing on an opioid or heroin, breathing can slow down or stop, and it can be very hard to wake them from this state. Narcan can block the effects of opioids/heroin and reverse an overdose.
Each attendee will receive a free Narcan kit.
This training will be in-person. COVID protocols will be released closer to the date.
