Come to this session and learn about the organization KidsRead2Kids and how they help kids build self-esteem and reading confidence. They'll be sharing resources that are available to help bring joy and confidence back to the struggling reader and how you can use them at your library.
KidsRead2Kids is a Parents’ Choice award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by dyslexic and ADHD siblings. We're dedicated to helping all children, especially those who learn differently, find a love of reading and learning. From our Book Club, which pairs young students with high school mentors to learn new skills, to our Magazine, which features professionals and changemakers across the world, we have something to light the spark in every child.
About KidsRead2Kids Book Club:
KidsRead2Kids Book Club is a Covid-safe community-building club designed to foster a love of learning in every child, regardless of how they learn. Help us expand to give social and extracurricular opportunities to students in need.
In December, in partnership with the Bloomfield Hills School District and eleven local businesses, KidsRead2Kids Book Club designed and implemented a Covid-safe community Bear Hunt in Birmingham, Michigan.
In our Bear Hunt, local businesses placed our posters in their windows along with a mystery clue and teddy bear for families to find. This event is designed to bring joy to families and give back to local businesses, while encouraging a love of books. Our Bear Hunt can easily be adapted for libraries to showcase available resources.
