The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation is a nonpartisan, independent nonprofit organization that coaches people and organizations to solve pressing problems and change how communities work together.
This day-long workshop will focus on three, highly interactive, modules from the Harwood Institute Public Innovators Lab.
The three modules include:
- Community Conversations - A community conversation is a series of 90 to 120 minute conversations with community members about what they want their community to be; what challenges they face in realizing these aspirations; and what changes are needed to overcome them.
- Turning Outward - Being turned outward means you hold a deep understanding of your community and you use it as the reference point for your decisions and choices in your organization. During this interactive session you will use the Harwood Institute's "Turn Quiz" to help assess the extent to which you are inwardly or outwardly focused.
- 3A's of Public Life - What does it mean to hold genuine authority, authenticity, and accountability in public life? To what extent do we exude these qualities in how we conduct ourselves day in and day out? What are the implications of our choices for establishing the trust and credibility needed to drive collaboration and collectives action in communities? In this session you will use the 3A's test to explore choices and decisions in relationship to the 3A's.
The application form for this event will be available soon.
