Creating and Sustaining a Friends Group for Your Library

Getting It Started: Creating and Sustaining a Friends Group for Your Library
Learn the benefits of gathering community volunteers to support your library’s programs and services.  We’ll utilize a checklist to develop your group: recruiting helpers for a steering committee, determining the Friends’ mission, expanding their membership, and growing the leadership to sustain an active organization.

Friday, January 19, 2018.  12:30 – 2:30 p.m.  [Snow date: If the Canandaigua City Schools are closed due to winter weather on January 19, the workshop will be postponed until Friday, January 26 at the same time.]

This is a public class offered in cooperation with the Friends of Libraries Section of the New York Library Association.  It is not restricted to members of the Pioneer Library System.  The class is free of charge, but registration is required.  A team consisting of the library director, a trustee, and a community volunteer should attend if possible.  Questions about the class should be directed to Lauren Moore, Executive Director, PLS at lmoore@pls-net.org
