How can we entice people to attend our programs?

How can we entice people to attend our programs?
(Each participant will get a chance to win a gift basket that they can use to entice people to come to their own programs)

Why didn't people come to my library program?
Perhaps we need a new approach to our library programs, and are we even asking the right questions? Maybe it's not "Why didn't people come to my library program?" but "Why do we have library programs in the first place?"

Then asking;
"Why do people come to library programs?" "What do people in my community want and need?" "What is the goal of our programs for adults?" Is the goal that every seat is filled? or could new connections being made and interactions across socioeconomic boundaries, be more important? If so what kinds of things can we do to make that happen? What if our community thought of library programs as gatherings to come together as well as places to learn? What if everyone contributes? How might we make that happen?
