We coordinate year-round advocacy efforts to educate state legislators about importance of library funding. These efforts help forge strong relationships with local and state legislators who understand the essential place of libraries in our communities and recognize the value of the shared-services PLS provides.

We also support libraries with local advocacy efforts, including local ballot initiatives and PR campaigns.

For more information about PLS’s state and local library advocacy efforts, contact Executive Director Lauren Moore (lmoore@pls-net.org). The New York Library Association is also an excellent source of information about statewide advocacy efforts.
